Smart speaker market turnover worldwide 2019, by region

In 2019, the U.S. market is set to account for around 2.62 billion euros of the overall smart speaker market revenue. As such, the United States is also the region with the largest number of unit sales of smart speakers for the same period.

Available smart speaker options

Of the selection of speakers available across the globe, Amazon holds the position as market leader for several years up until now. However, its competitors are catching up: Google, Baidu, and Alibaba's offerings are bought at increasing quantities. Google, in particular, has scored highly in its performance compared to other speakers capable of responding to verbal prompts.

Smart home – an American dream?

The United States is the current leader in smart home adaptions, with a penetration rate of 27 percent in 2019. This valuation is significantly higher than the worldwide rate, which was at only seven percent during the corresponding year. The North American region is responsible for 40 percent of global consumer spending on smart home devices, making it a strong market.
